FORMER PRESIDENT KAGAME'S BODYGUARD KILLED IN SOUTH AFRICA.

Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA:
President Paul Kagame’s former bodyguard has been assassinated by gunmen in Cape Town South Africa.

Rwandan high commissioner to SA Vincent Karega confirmed that Camir Nkuruziza was a metered taxi driver who was hijacked on on the corner of Hugo and Milton roads in Goodwood around 5pm.

Karega said the hijackers put Nkuruziza in the backseat of the car and sped off before he was killed in the crossfire in the shootout with the police.

“Probably they wanted to take the car … Maybe they wanted to take him somewhere it is dark or so and dump him. I don’t know,”
Karega said.

Ugandan news site New Vision reported Nkuruziza was Rwandan President Paul Kagame’s former bodyguard before he became a government critic. The publication suggested he was assassinated instead of a victim of crime.

Karega believes the article is an attempt by Uganda to discredit the Rwandan government.
“Any opportunity for them is a political weapon.”

Rwandan State Minister for East African Community affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe said he was killed by the Goodwood Police after he resisted arrest over his involvement in car hijacking.

"So, Camille Nkurunziza, a member of terrorist organizations RNC of Kayumba Nyamwasa then FLN of Callixte Nsabimana, was also a hijacker in South Africa. He was killed yesterday evening by the Goodwood Police while resisting arrest with a knife. Once a criminal, always a criminal,"
he tweeted on Friday.

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) and the police are investigating the shooting. The police opened fire on the suspected hijackers and killed two people.

Ipid spokesperson Moses Dlamini said: “It is alleged that there was a collision with a number of vehicles at an intersection. An SAPS member approached the vehicle and it is alleged that one suspect attempted to stab the SAPS member.”
He added:
“Eight shots were fired by the SAPS member into the hijacked vehicle.”

Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana told TimesLIVE earlier :
“According to information, a vehicle that was allegedly hijacked, a Toyota Etios, was spotted by the police and the driver fled. A high-speed chase ensued and the vehicle collided with three vehicles. Two men in their thirties were shot and fatally wounded.”

Seven people, including a child, were taken to medical facilities for treatment. No arrests have been made.

Camir Nkuruziza has been a critic of President Kagame, accusing him of intolerance to dissenting views.

Nkuruziza is the second-high profile person to be killed in South Africa after the killing of former intelligence boss Col. Patrick Karegeya in 2014.

A report by South African authorities reveled that Rwandan dissident Patrick Karegeya was plotted and executed by agents directly linked to the government of Rwanda.

Nkurunziza is remembered for starting a campaign, dubbed No 3rd term for Kagame, which was very popular among the opposition in Rwanda.

Camir was often seen carrying placards that read ‘No to Life Presidency.’ He also shared pictures in Tshirts reading ‘No 3rd Term For Kagame Article 101.’

Former Rwandan army chief General Kayumba Nyamwasa has also survived two attempts on his life.

Camir Nkirunziza is a brother of Sergeant Innocent Karisa who is said to being prisoned in Rwanda after he was suspected of being a member of Rwanda National Congress, an opposition outfit.

According to a close relative, Nkurunziza, a brother to Sgt Innocent Karisa who was also kidnapped from Uganda in 2013 and is said to be incarcerated in Kigali.

After the kidnap of Sgt Karisa in August 2013, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) issued a strong protest to the government of Uganda over what it called the rise in abductions and the attempted assassination of Rwandan refugees and asylum seekers in the country.

MINERS IN NAMIBIA DISCOVER SHIPWRECK LOADED $13 MILLION WORTH OF GOLD.

Image: Dieter Noli. Diamond miners working off the coast of Africa were beyond surprised when they discovered a 500-year-old shipwreck teeming with gold worth $13 million and other treasures. The ship, aptly named ‘Bom Jesus’ or ‘Good Jesus,’ was like a miracle to the miners. Bom Jesus was first identified and discovered by geologists working for the mining company De Beers in 2008. It was found off the coast of Namibia near Oranjemund. Image: Dieter Noli. According to experts, Bom Jesus is from the Golden era of Portuguese explorers who set sail in all directions in search of new lands to colonize. The ship left Lisbon in 1533 under the supervision of Sir Francisco de Noronha. But on its way to India, it mysteriously vanished. Before the discovery, the miners were draining an artificial salt lake. As the lake dried out, many lost ships were found at the bottom of the lake. Bom Jesus was among them, and it is considered the oldest of all the shipw

GARY NEVILLE SLAMS UK PRIME MINISTER FOR FUELLING RACISM IN FOOTBALL.

Manchester, ENGLAND: Manchester United legend Gary Neville has slammed Prime Minister Boris Johnson after a racist incident during the Manchester derby. Both Jesse Lingard and Fred appeared to be racially abused by a Manchester City fan during the second half at the Etihad Stadium. And former Red Devils captain and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville raised the issue that the Prime Minister has 'fuelled' racism through his political policies in recent years. “ It is happening in our country, our league,” Neville explained. “You are watching the Prime Minister's debate last night where he is talking about migration to this country, and people having to have certain levels. “It fuels it all the time. It has got worse over the last few years in this country and not just in football.” Fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp echoed Neville’s comments; raising the problem as ’societal’ and labelling the racist behaviour as “disgusting”. “It is a society problem,”   Red

WHY CHINA'S DOG-MEAT MARKET HAS EXPANDED.

Every year during the summer solstice, a dog-eating festival takes place in Yulin, a city in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi. This year’s event ended with the usual controversy. Photographs of dogs being fried or treated cruelly went viral.  The Jinhua Hutou Dog Meat Festival, as it is called, was abruptly canceled last week. Animal-rights activists and American congressmen demanded that China ban the eating of dogs and cats, as Taiwan did in April. Yulin’s local government took modest steps to restrain or hide some of the more contentious activities, such as selling dogs in food markets. Still, the festival was packed. Why has the controversial culinary habit become so popular in China? Contrary to cliché, dog meat has not always been a common item in the Chinese diet.  Unlike in the West, eating dogs has never been taboo, but it appears to have been rare in the past. Government accounts single out butchers who sold dog meat, suggesting it was unusu
