Rummenigge, who was talking to German publication BILD, proceeded to hit out at striker Lewandowski, criticizing his long-time ambition to join Real Madrid.
"I am sorry for what Lewandowski said. It's not the first time he talks bad about our club and I know his agent Barthel is behind his statements. I don't believe, however, that a player has all this power." Rummenigge told BILD.
"Lewandowski's contract expires in 2021 and unfortunately for him, there is no release clause."

The 54-year-old, who spent 10 years of his playing career at Bayern, went onto state that Lewandowski was unhappy with pre-season, but reminded the Poland international that his 'dream' club spent 24 days travelling in hot weather.
I sense a little tension, here:
"Lewandowski was also unhappy with the pre-season tour we had in Asia but he should remember that Real Madrid, the clubs he dreams of playing for, spent 24 days travelling with hot weather.
"That's much more than what we did in the summer." Rummenigge said.

It all began when Lewandowski told another German publication, Der Spiegel, that he wanted Munich to compete for the best players in the current transfer market.
The 29-year-old said: "Bayern will have to come up with something and be creative if the club wants to keep bringing world-class players to Munich. And if you want to compete at the top, you need to have these quality players."
Rummenigge was quick to reply, and in the interview with BILD, the CEO said: "It would be a pity, if he actually saw it that way. Loyalty is part of Bayern's DNA and very important to our fans,"

or a long time now we have a serious and successful philosophy that brought us big success. I stick with our chancellor who said the fees should be regulated and reduced.
"Obviously Robert was irritated by PSG's transfers. He is employed with us as a football player and earns a lot of money. I regret what he said."
