DELE ALLI BOOED BY NIGERIAN FANS AFTER CHOOSING TO PLAY FOR ENGLAND OVER NIGERIA.

London, ENGLAND:

Nigeria fans booed Dele Alli at Wembley because he was playing for England and not them.

The Tottenham star has a Nigerian father, but he was born in England and has lived in the country since birth.

Bamidele Jermaine Alli (born 11 April 1996), better known as Dele Alli, is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team.

Loud boos echoed around the stadium when Alli touched the ball during the World Cup warm-up match.

Alli made it clear from the off that he would pursue his international career with the Three Lions.

He progressed through the youth ranks and made several appearances at Under-17 and Under-18 level.

England fans flocked to Twitter to defend the 22-year-old star, with one stating: "Dele Alli is getting booed for playing for England rather than Nigeria, guys he was born in Milton Keynes."

Alli did not let the fans get under his skin as he patrolled the midfield for Gareth Southgate's side, who were 2-0 up by half-time.

Gary Cahill opened the scoring after seven minutes, before Spurs ace Harry Kanedoubled the tally.

In 2016, the England international changed the name on the back of his shirt because he felt "no connection with the Alli surname."

The Tottenham star has since decided to stick the name 'Dele' on his jersey.

Alli was born in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, to a Nigerian father Kehinde and English mother Denise.

At the age of nine, Alli moved to Nigeria with his father, where he spent some years in an International School.His multi-millionaire father Kehinde, moved to the United States a week after Alli's birth, although he was periodically involved in Alli's adolescent years.

Alli went to Stantonbury Campus and The Radcliffe School in Wolverton. Alli was initially brought up by her mother, who suffered from alcohol problems.

At the age of 13, she moved into the family home of Alan and Sally Hickford, parents of another young footballer with MK Dons and whom he refers to as her "adoptive" parents "though he was never legally adopted by them.

In the summer of 2016, Dele elected to wear the name "Alli" on his match shirts because he felt no connection with the Alli family, instead opting for 'Dele'.

UGANDA ANNOUNCES "KILL THE GAYS" LAW IMPOSING DEATH PENALTY TO HOMOSEXUALS.

Kampala, UGANDA: Uganda has announced plans to impose the death penalty on homosexuals. The bill, colloquially known as “Kill the Gays” in Uganda, was nullified five years ago on a technicality, but the government said on Thursday it plans to resurrect it within weeks. MALARIA VACCINE PROVES HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN BURKINA FASO.

A vaccine against malaria has been shown to be highly effective in trials in Africa, holding out the real possibility of slashing the death toll of a disease that kills 400,000 mostly small children every year. The vaccine, developed by scientists at the Jenner Institute of Oxford University, showed up to 77% efficacy in a trial of 450 children in Burkina Faso over 12 months. The hunt for a malaria vaccine has been going on the best part of a century. One, the Mosquirix vaccine developed by GlaxoSmithKline, has been through lengthy clinical trials but is only partially effective, preventing 39% of malaria cases and 29% of severe malaria cases among small children in Africa over four years. It is being piloted by the World Health Organization in parts of Kenya, Ghana and Malawi.
