GHADDAFI'S SON RESISTS DEPORTATION TO LIBYA BY ZIMBABWEAN GOVERNMENT.

Harare, ZIMBABWE:
Zimbabwe's Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi said the late Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s adopted son, Abhallha Mone Moussa Moummare, is resisting attempts by Zimbabwean authorities to have him deported to Tripoli, Libya.

Ziyambi was briefing a Senate thematic committee on human rights on how Government was dealing with refugees, and addressing their living conditions in prisons. He said Gaddafi’s son recently refused to disembark from a plane in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was supposed to board a connecting flight to Libya.

In an interview, Minister Ziyambi said Gaddafi’s son ran away from Libya after his father was deposed and killed in 2011, and arrived in Harare in 2014. He has since approached the High Court challenging his detention at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and wants to be granted refugee or asylum status.
Said Ziyambi:
"There are some court applications challenging his detention. So we are waiting for the outcome. Initially his identity could not be ascertained definitively. Under those circumstances, it was not prudent to grant that status without ascertaining for ourselves. So he was deported, but refused to go to Libya. He said he was more comfortable here. He was deported and while in Addis en-route to Libya, he refused to disembark from the plane."

According to his handwritten High Court application, which has been forwarded to Zimbabwean top lawyer Charles Warara for legal assistance, Moummare(Ghaddafi's son) said he came to Zimbabwe because his father had a good relationship with the country’s leadership. Moummare said when he arrived in Zimbabwe in April 2014, he presented himself to authorities with the hope that he would be taken to a refugee camp. He was however taken to the remand prison and he has not been charged so far.

Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison (CMSP) is the largest prison and correctional facility in Zimbabwe which is located on the outskirts of Harare (about 15 kilometres from Harare). It houses about 17 000 prisoners (both men and women).

MALARIA VACCINE PROVES HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN BURKINA FASO.

A vaccine against malaria has been shown to be highly effective in trials in Africa, holding out the real possibility of slashing the death toll of a disease that kills 400,000 mostly small children every year. The vaccine, developed by scientists at the Jenner Institute of Oxford University, showed up to 77% efficacy in a trial of 450 children in Burkina Faso over 12 months. The hunt for a malaria vaccine has been going on the best part of a century. One, the Mosquirix vaccine developed by GlaxoSmithKline, has been through lengthy clinical trials but is only partially effective, preventing 39% of malaria cases and 29% of severe malaria cases among small children in Africa over four years. It is being piloted by the World  Health  Organization in parts of Kenya, Ghana and Malawi. The Oxford vaccine is the first to meet the WHO goal of 75% efficacy against the mosquito-borne parasite disease. Larger trials are now beginning, involving 4,800 children in four countries. SOUTH AFRICA'S RICHEST WOMAN OFFERS 1.4 MILLION RAND REWARD FOR ZUMA'S SON & GUPTA.

One of the South Africa's richest women Magda Wierzycka is offering R1.4 million of her own money to help authorities track down and arrest Ajay Gupta and Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane who are understood to be fugitives. The CEO of Sygnia Group and former head of institutional business at Coronation Fund Managers and former CEO of the African Harvest Group is adamant that this is a reward and not a bounty. “A bounty is a concept of hunting for people. The idea here is that people keep their eyes open and report Duduzane [Zuma] and the Guptas if spotted  to the authorities so there is an arrest. This is not people hunting for criminals and people taking law into their own hands “I don’t believe that they are walking around in shopping malls. There are people hiding them, there are people shielding them. From my information I know that they are protected by bodyguards, they and their families and anybody else who might be sheltering these people can assist. It is an ap...

NETFLIX KILLING DSTV IN SOUTH AFRICA COULD COST THOUSANDS OF JOBS.

South Africa is a leading video entertainment and internet company, MultiChoice has warned that if communications authority of the country proceeds with heavy-handed regulations for the pay TV market, it could cost thousands of jobs in South Africa. ICASA will hold public hearings on an inquiry into subscription television broadcasting services from 7-11 May, and MultiChoice has briefed the media on the feedback it will put forward. CAR STOLEN BY KENYAN EX-MINISTER FOUND ABANDONED.

Nairobi, KENYA: A classic Mercedes Benz stolen from a showroom in Nairobi by former minister Paul Ngei has been found in a deplorable state. The Mercedes Benz 300SEL registration number KNM 190 was a premium car in its heyday. LARGEST SINGLE MASS CHILD SACRIFICE IN HISTORY DISCOVERED.

Lima, PERU: Archaeologists in Peru have unearthed what is believed to be the largest single mass child sacrifice in history. The bodies of 227 victims, aged between five and 14, were found near the coastal town of Huanchaco, north of Peru's capital Lima. The children were believed to have been sacrificed over 500 years ago. The discovery comes barely a year after  200 child victims of human sacrifice were found  at two other sites in the country. Archaeologists told AFP news agency that some of the bodies in this latest collection still had hair and skin when they were dug up. The children show signs of being killed during wet weather, and were buried facing the sea, meaning they were probably sacrificed to appease the Chimú's gods. It is unclear in which year the incident took place. The Chimú resided along Peru's northern coast and were one of the region's most powerful civilisations. They reached prominence between 1200 and 1400 before being conque...
