Tehran, IRAN:
A Iranian woman who’s paid for many surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie has been arrested on “suspicion of blasphemy”.
Social media influencer Sahar Tabar from Tehran rose to Instagram fame after posting a picture of her face, radically altered by cosmetic surgery, on social media, Daily Mail reports.
Instagram users felt the 22-year-old, who’s had more than 50 surgeries, resembles Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie – but with a Gothic twist.
Sahar was arrested on Saturday, 5 October on charges including blasphemy, inciting violence, illegally acquiring property, insulting the country’s dress code and encouraging young people to commit corruption, according to Metro News.
In previous media interviews with media Sahar revealed she’d had numerous surgeries, including liposuction cosmetic procedures, and depended on make-up, prosthetics and Photoshop to enhance her look on social media.
“It is Photoshop and make-up. Every time I publish a photo I make my face more fun. It’s my way of self-expression, a kind of art,”
Sahar told Mirror News.
Sahar told Mirror News.
“My followers know that this isn’t my real face,” she explained.
“I had no interest at all to be like Angelina Jolie, and I didn’t want to look like the character from 'Corpse Bride'.
“I understand that I do have some similarities with them, but I’m my own muse and I didn’t want to look like anyone.
