ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC IS BACK.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has re-signed for Manchester United on a one-year contract.

The 35-year-old, who suffered a serious knee injury in April, will wear the number 10 shirt after Romelu Lukaku inherited his number nine.

Ibrahimovic, who is nicknamed 'God' by some United teammates, tweeted a picture of himself clasping hands with the devil to celebrate his reunion.

Ibrahimovic told the club website: "I am back to finish what I started. It was always mine and the club's intention for me to stay. I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready.

"I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch."

United manager Jose Mourinho added: "We are delighted Zlatan is on the road to recovery and we are equally delighted to have his ambition and experience back with us.

"After his contribution last season he deserves our trust and we will be patient waiting for him to return. I have no doubt that he will be important in the second part of the season."

Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in 46 appearances for United last term, including Wembley winners in the Community Shield and EFL Cup final.

The Sweden great hinted to M.E.N. Sport in April he would extend his stay with United before he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligaments in the Europa League quarter-final win over Anderlecht.

"I enjoy," he told the M.E.N. "I’m a person when I go into something I put my head 200 per cent, and I do what I’m good at. I go in, I go for the kill and I go out.

"And when I go out there is no complaints, that’s what I do. I never leave a job unfinished.

"I always go in, do my job, and in the way that is a fair play, a fair deal, that is what I do."

The agent Mino Raiola now has four clients in United's frontline after he presided over deals involving Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.
