ARSENAL STRIKER, PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG MAY NOT PLAY FOR GABON AGAIN.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may not play for Gabon again following a row with the country's football association, new coach Daniel Cousin has told RMC.

Gabon captain Aubameyang reacted angrily when the Gabon Football Federation announced that his father, Pierre Francois, would be co-coach, claiming they had done so the day before he had said he would give his decision on the offer.

Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang born on 18 June 1989 is a Gabonese professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Premier League club Arsenal captains the Gabonese national team.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has criticised the country's football federation (FEGAFOOT) after they appointed his father as national team coach and said Pierre Francois did not want the job.

Pierre François Aubameyang "Yaya" is a Gabonese international footballer. He also holds French passport. He is the father of Catilina, Willy and Pierre-Emerick. He won 80 caps for the Gabon national team. He spent most of his career at the French team Stade Lavallois.

The Arsenal striker expressed anger at what he called the "amateurism" of the national federation, who this week named his father and Daniel Cousin, ex-Gabon captains, as joint coaches to succeed former Spain manager Jose-Antonio Camacho.

"You were wondering why I have problems with you, why I don't want to come and play for the national team," Aubameyang wrote on Instagram in a post that tagged the Gabon federation.

"You have told the whole world about my father, the so-called coach of the national team, when you did not even get his agreement!

"The president of the federation called my dad but did not even care to ask about his state of health. He's sick at the moment.

"To rush out and hold a press conference [on Wednesday] when my father said he would give his answer only the next day is another demonstration of why.

"His decision, by the way, is negative. You didn't even give him a chance to negotiate about his staff members or other things."

The Arsenal striker claimed his father was yet to give his response to the job offer, while the federation said it had been pressured into making the announcement by Gabon's Minister for Sport and Youth.

Cousin, who has been put in sole charge, fears his hopes of steering the country to next year's African Nations Cup will be hampered by the absence of his star player.

"I left a message with his father, because I'm closer to him,"
he said.

"But given what happened, I didn't want to rub salt in the wound with Pierre-Emerick.

"After what happened, I hope he'll honour his call-ups for the good of the Panthers, and that he'll help us qualify for the Nations Cup. But we can also consider a Plan B if he doesn't -- we have other players, and we'll make do."

Cousin said he was uncertain whether Aubameyang, who was born in France but opted to play for the country of his father's birth, would play in the qualifying double-header against South Sudan next month.

"After what happened on social media, I can't tell you his decision. As things got a bit heated, I'm not sure,"
he said.

"For the moment, I haven't had an answer. After the defeat against Zambia [in a friendly], he told me he would be there, but that was before this thing. I'm going to try and stay positive and I hope he'll be with us."

CUBA CLAIMS CANADIAN PRIME MINISTER IS FIDEL CASTRO'S SON.

The suicide note left by Fidel Castro’s eldest son has rocked the Cuban nation this week, with the most astonishing revelation being the claim that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was his half-brother and the son of the late Fidel Castro. The handwritten note left by Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, 68, the eldest of Fidel Castro’s children, appears to confirm the longstanding rumor in Cuba that Fidel Castro fathered Justin Trudeau after a public tryst with Margaret Trudeau in 1970. “ Castro Diaz-Balart, who had been attended by a group of doctors for several months due to a state of profound depression, committed suicide this morning ,”  Cubadebate website reported. The death of the high-profile government nuclear scientist, also known as “Fidelito”, or Little Fidel, because of how much he looked like his father, stunned the nation, however it is his “ explosive ” suicide note that has set tongues wagging in Havana. Amid a wide-ranging barrage of compl...

MINERS IN NAMIBIA DISCOVER SHIPWRECK LOADED $13 MILLION WORTH OF GOLD.

Image: Dieter Noli. Diamond miners working off the coast of Africa were beyond surprised when they discovered a 500-year-old shipwreck teeming with gold worth $13 million and other treasures. The ship, aptly named ‘Bom Jesus’ or ‘Good Jesus,’ was like a miracle to the miners. Bom Jesus was first identified and discovered by geologists working for the mining company De Beers in 2008. It was found off the coast of Namibia near Oranjemund. Image: Dieter Noli. According to experts, Bom Jesus is from the Golden era of Portuguese explorers who set sail in all directions in search of new lands to colonize. The ship left Lisbon in 1533 under the supervision of Sir Francisco de Noronha. But on its way to India, it mysteriously vanished. Before the discovery, the miners were draining an artificial salt lake. As the lake dried out, many lost ships were found at the bottom of the lake. Bom Jesus was among them, and it is considered the oldest of all ...

MALARIA VACCINE PROVES HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN BURKINA FASO.

A vaccine against malaria has been shown to be highly effective in trials in Africa, holding out the real possibility of slashing the death toll of a disease that kills 400,000 mostly small children every year. The vaccine, developed by scientists at the Jenner Institute of Oxford University, showed up to 77% efficacy in a trial of 450 children in Burkina Faso over 12 months. The hunt for a malaria vaccine has been going on the best part of a century. One, the Mosquirix vaccine developed by GlaxoSmithKline, has been through lengthy clinical trials but is only partially effective, preventing 39% of malaria cases and 29% of severe malaria cases among small children in Africa over four years. It is being piloted by the World  Health  Organization in parts of Kenya, Ghana and Malawi. The Oxford vaccine is the first to meet the WHO goal of 75% efficacy against the mosquito-borne parasite disease. Larger trials are now beginning, involving 4,800 children in four countries. THOUSANDS PROTESTS AGAINST US MILITARY BASE DEAL IN GHANA.

Accra, GHANA: Thousands of protesters marched in the streets of Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday to protest a deal between the Trump administration and Ghana's government that would expand military cooperation. Protesters take part in demonstration organised by Ghana First Patriotic Front (GFPF), in downtown Accra against a Ghana-US defence cooperation agreement which was ratified by the Ghanaian Parliament last week.  Image: AFP. The New York Times reported that thousands of marchers demanded an end to a deal struck last week between top Ghanaian officials and their American counterparts. The deal would have the U.S. invest $20 million into Ghana's military and greatly expand U.S. soldiers' authority on Ghanaian soil. U.S. troops would be given access to the country's radio frequencies and one airport runway, as well as have immunity and receive tax exemptions for military equipment imports, according to the Times. Some of the provisions, like l...

"RAMAPHOSA IS THE LAST HOPE", CHINESE AMBASSADOR TO SOUTH AFRICA.

Johannesburg, S.AFRICA: President Cyril Ramaphosa is the “last hope” for South Africa, but his government must turn incentive policies into laws to secure more Chinese investment, a senior Chinese diplomat told Reuters. China is the country’s largest trading partner and has pledged more investment than any other country since Ramaphosa embarked on a drive last year to attract $100 billion of new investment to lift the economy out of a slump. While it has attracted some $55 billion in total pledges - including from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as well - the drive has so far done little to ease crippling unemployment or boost economic growth. “President Cyril Ramaphosa is the last hope of this country,”  Lin Songtian, China’s ambassador to South Africa, told Reuters. But while African nations have seen a boom in infrastructure development over the past decade, he said projects proposed by the South African authorities had lacked feasibility studi...

DEREK CHAUVIN TO BE CHARGED OVER ANOTHER 2017 INCIDENT.

New York, U.S: The Department of Justice is reportedly considering charging Derek Chauvin in a 2017 incident involving a Black teenager that came to light while prosecutors were preparing the George Floyd murder case against the former Minneapolis cop. The DOJ’s investigation focuses on footage of Chauvin striking a 14-year-old so hard that he needed stitches to close the wound, then kneeling on him for almost 17 minutes — mostly putting pressure on his upper back — as the youngster complained he couldn’t breathe, ABC News reported. Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes before the 46-year-old Black man died May 25, 2020 after begging for air. Chauvin was convicted of his murder Tuesday. Derek Chauvin was convicted of murder on Tuesday. (AP) A state prosecutor wrote of the 2017 incident that “videos show a far more violent and forceful treatment of this child than Chauvin describes in his report,” yet no action was taken against him. BEES 'ARRESTS' SUSPECTED THIEVES IN UGANDA.

Bees 'handcuffed' one of the suspects around the wrist, while another had the TV set reportedly stuck on his hands.  Image: Daily Monitor. Kampala, UGANDA: Two burglars who are suspected to have stolen a television set in Sofiia village, Busia Town in eastern Uganda are in police custody after they were attacked by a swarm of bees. Like police would handcuff a suspect, a swarm of bees mobbed the hands of one of the suspects, while another reportedly had the TV set stuck on his hands as they returned the stolen items to where they had been picked from. Ms Rashida Jowelia, the owner of the property, said her TV set was stolen from her house last Friday, but she decided to seek the services of a medicine man in Sofia Village rather than report the matter to police. The suspects were identified as Wycliffe Kinara and Richard Duki, both Kenyan nationals from Nakuru. Bees 'handcuffed' one of them around the wrist, while another had the TV set reportedly stuck on his hands...

MIKE TYSON IS STARTING A MARIJUANA EMPIRE IN CALIFORNIA.

Image: PA/Rex/Getty) Mike Tyson is starting the New Year with green on his mind, because he’s leading the charge on a cannabis resort that aims at not only producing high quality strains of THC and CBD, but also implementing cutting-edge technology to advance the research on the health benefits of marijuana. California has become the largest state in the US to legalise recreational cannabis use. As of 1 January 2018, adults aged over 21 can possess up to an ounce (28 grams) of the drug and can grow up to six marijuana plants at home. Opponents say the law will lead to more driving under the influence of the drug and introduce young people to drug use. But business is eyeing what could be an industry worth tens of billions of dollars in the next few years. On December 20, the former Heavyweight Champ broke ground on a 40-acre plot of land in California City, a remote desert about 60 miles southwest of Death Valley National Park.  He was joined ...

SOUTH AFRICAN MP SAYS THAT IT IS OUR CULTURE TO BEAT YOUNG LOVERS.

ZIMBABWE'S FIRST LADY,  MR.GRACE MUGABE. ANC MP Loyiso Mpumlwana has defended Grace Mugabe’s alleged assault on a young South African woman, saying that beating young lovers is part of their culture. Zimbabwe’s first lady recently caused controversy when diplomatic immunity saw her dodge the assault charges laid against her by Gabriella Engels. Mugabe allegedly beat the 20-year-old South African woman with an electrical cable in a Sandton hotel, where she was staying with the Mugabe sons, and Mpumlwana said that her behaviour was unacceptable only from a eurocentric point of view. "I like what you are saying … a people-centred justice service that is accessible, reliable and efficient," Mpumlwana, who is a member of the justice committee, said. "Beautiful English there, but who are the people? "We have been colonised mainly by the English. Our system of the courts is still that. The African values are not regarded by the system; it is the Europea...
