PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG WORST PENALTY.

Image: AFP. There's a reason that everyone goes mental when someone scores a panenka penalty, it's because they aren't actually that easy to score. As Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang showed they look even more spectacular when you get them wrong. The thing with a penalty is that you've basically been given the easiest possible opportunity to score after being illegally stopped from having a chance to do that in the first place. I12 yards, one-on-one with the keeper, dead centre of the goal, no defender can come near you and the goalkeeper has to stay on his line until you've kicked it. Pretty much no one should balls it up unless the keeper makes a great save. However despite everything being in their favour strikers often unnecessarily add in extra hurdles for themselves by taking a pause in their run-up or hitting them in weird and wonderful ways. The most famous of those is of course the panenka, the little chip down the middle. Wonderful when it goes right, ...

PICTURES & VIDEO OF THE PLASTIC BOTTLES HOUSES.

Images: Controversial files/facebook. Photos have surfaced online showing incredible houses built using plastic bottles filled with sand and arranged like bricks. A Facebook page named The Controversial Files shared the photos on September 26, sparking intense debate on the advantages and disadvantages of such houses. While some hailed the idea as innovative and environment-friendly, others questioned whether or not the houses are safe to live in. Interestingly, some renewable energy experts believe that plastic bottles can last for hundreds of years as long as they are kept away from the sun. One of them is Tateh Lehbib, who is a Sahrawi refugee living in a camp in Tindouf, Algeria. He has build similar plastic bottles houses there. In a recent interview with Middle East Eye, he said: “We all know that plastic does not get undone in nature until after hundreds of years." He added: "There are estimates that the number is more than 300 years, and ...

BARCELONA FC MAY SHIFT TO ENGLAND PREMIER LEAGUE.

Image: Nike. The thought of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta turning out for Barcelona in the Premier League seems like a distant fantasy. But remarkably, Catalunya's bid for independence could open a world of possibilities for the famous club. And according to the region's sport minister, the Catalan teams would have the right to choose where they compete if independence from Spain becomes a reality. "'In the case of independence, Catalan teams in La Liga – Barcelona, Espanyol and Girona – will have to decide where they want to play: in the Spanish league or a neighbouring country like Italy, France or the Premier League,' said Gerard Figueras. 'Now in Spain there teams from other countries who play in national leagues: clubs from Andorra in football and basketball. 'Monaco play in France, in England Welsh clubs. I don't think that UEFA has anything against seeing another club play in a different league from their country.' ...

WELSH RUGBY PLAYER BITTEN BY THE LION IN SOUTH AFRICA.

Image: Reuters. A Welsh international rugby player was forced to miss a match in South Africa after getting himself bitten by a lion. Wales hooker Scott Baldwin was described as "pretty lucky" and "pretty stupid" after being bitten on the hand in Bloemfontein. Baldwin had been in the African country because his Swansea-based Pro 14 league club Ospreys were due to play South African opponents Cheetahs at the Toyota Stadium in Free State's capital city. Video footage posted on the Twitter feed of former rugby player Andy Goode shows Baldwin reaching through metal bars to touch the big cat. As he strokes the animal on the head as it lays on the ground, it suddenly snaps. Baldwin, 29, is heard to cry out and pulls his arm away before a warden tells a colleague to get him first aid. The injury, which needed stitches, occurred on Wednesday during a pre-match visit to a safari park. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE : Ospreys coach Steve Tandy told reporters:...

MONEY CHANGERS VOW TO DEFY GOVERNMENT IN ZIMBABWE.

Illegal foreign currency traders in Masvingo, South eastern Zimbabwe, have vowed to defy a government move to criminalise their trade, saying it is the same administration that has ushered them into the streets because of lack of employment.  They said they can only stop if government avails employment opportunities for the general populace.  This comes after government gazetted a law to curb illegal cash and foreign currency trading with offenders to face a mandatory 10-year jail term, as their cash is forfeited to the State, while their bank accounts are frozen. The new measures were announced in Parliament on Thursday by Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa, saying the stringent regulations were gazetted under the Exchange Control Amendment Regulations. But hordes of foreign currency dealers dotted in and around Masvingo said they would not stop the practice since it is now their only source of livelihood in the absence of formal employment following the closure of...

VIDEO AND PICTURES OF THE FIRST FLYING TAXI IN DUBAI.

Dubai has showcased a flight for what it said would soon be the world's first drone taxi service under an ambitious plan by the United Arab Emirates city to lead the Arab world in innovation. The flying taxi developed by German drone firm Volocopter resembles a small, two-seater helicopter cabin topped by a wide hoop studded with 18 propellers. Meant to run without remote control guidance and with a maximum flight duration of 30 minutes, it comes with plenty of fail-safes in case of trouble. These include back-up batteries, rotors and, for a worst case scenario, a couple of parachutes. Volocopter is in a race with more than a dozen well-funded European and US firms, each with its own science fiction-inspired vision for creating a new form of urban transport that is a cross between a driverless electric car and a short-hop, vertical takeoff-and-landing aircraft. These include aerospace giant Airbus, which aims to put a self-piloting taxi in the air by 2020; Kitty Hawk, a ...

HOW CRISTIANO RONALDO ENDED RUUD VAN NISTELROOY'S MANCHESTER UNITED CAREER.

Image: PA. Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistlerooy saw his Red Devils career come crashing down following a disagreement with a young Cristiano Ronaldo , in which comments were exchanged regarding the player's father. The prolific Dutch striker was a huge favourite at Old Trafford, but was shown the door shortly after an altercation with Ronaldo which left manager Sir Alex Ferguson with no option but to move him on. Revelations about Van Nistlerooy's departure have emerged in the recently published diaries of former Labour communications chief Alastair Campbell, a close friend of Ferguson. ALISTAIR CAMPBELL WITH SIR ALEX FERGUSON DURING MANCHESTER UNITED WORKING DAYS. As revealed in the Times , Campbell notes how Van Nistlerooy had become difficult to manage and came across as rather self-centred, leaving Ferguson unsure with what to do with the player. " The last straw was when he told Cristiano Ronaldo he had found a new dad in Carlos [Queiroz, Ferg...

VIDEO SHOWS NORTH KOREA CAPITAL WITH NO SINGLE PERSON.

Image: GETTY/DPRK360. FEARS are growing that Kim Jong-un has ordered the evacuation of his capital city after eerie footage showed it empty. The footage – captured by a Singaporean pilot, showed the city’s ominous tower blocks, roads and motorways completely empty. And it wasn’t just in the city centre, as Aram Pan’s video also showed deserted rural areas. North Korea has put the world on edge with its latest missile launch. The tubby tyrant claimed to have fired an ICBM tipped with a hydrogen bomb from the deserted capital last week. The bomb also triggered a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, felt as far away as China. If the city has indeed been evacuated, it would not be the first time the Hermit Kingdom has done this in the face of war. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE: SOURCE: dailystar.co.uk

US SENATE VOTES TO BAN KASPERSKY LAB PRODUCTS.

The logo of the anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab is seen at its headquarters in Moscow, Russia September 15, 2017. REUTERS/Sergei Karpukhin. WASHINGTON (Reuters): The U.S. Senate on Monday voted to ban Moscow-based cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab’s products from use by the federal government, citing concerns the company may be a pawn of the Kremlin and poses a national security risk. The vote is the latest in a series of setbacks in the United States for Kaspersky Lab, a 20-year-old anti-virus company that reaches 400 million customers globally and has vigorously denied that it conducts espionage on behalf of the Russian government. The vote, which was included as an amendment to an annual defense policy spending bill approved on Monday by the Senate, seeks to codify and expand a decision by the Trump administration last week to order civilian government agencies to purge from their networks any Kaspersky Lab products. U.S. lawmakers and intelligence officials have grown more alar...

NIGERIAN PRESIDENT BUHARI SLAMS HIS GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FOR PLAGIARIZING OBAMA'S SPEECH.

Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has ordered disciplinary action be taken against those who plagiarized and inserted U.S. President Barrack Obama’s 2008 speech into his during a national reorientation campaign launch in Abuja. The presidency acknowledged the similarities between the two speeches on Friday evening after a local newspaper spotted it and accused Buhari of plagiarism. “It was observed that the similarities between a paragraph in President Obama’s 2008 Victory Speech and what President Buhari read in paragraph nine of the sixteen-paragraph address while inaugurating the Campaign on Thursday, September 8, 2016 are too close to be passed as coincidence,” Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu said in a statement. He expressed the presidency’s regret for the “mistake by an overzealous staff” while adding that: “Already, a Deputy Director in the Presidency has accepted responsibility for the insertion of the contentious paragraph.” The statement said the “serious...

"ZUMA TOOK ME TO HIS BEDROOM"

Image:GALLO IMAGES An unnamed journalist has detailed how President Jacob Zuma allegedly forced himself onto her, giving her a long kiss. This is revealed in a soon-to-be-launched book about the late Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo who, in 2005, accused Zuma of raping her. He was acquitted of the charge in 2006. The book Khwezi, written by prominent broadcaster Redi Tlhabi, details how Zuma invited a female journalist to his home in Forest Town. The Johannesburg house is the same one where Kuzwayo, who became known as Khwezi to protect her identity, accused Zuma of raping her. "She [the journalist] had been to his home to interview him about sensitive news matters. Nothing unusual there. " The journalist concerned did not feel uncomfortable at all when, after a meeting with the South African National Editors' Forum, Zuma invited her to his house to discuss a sensitive matter in front of one of his trusted aides." According to the book, Zuma called his ...

ANC CONDEMNS JOHANN RUPERT COMMENT ON RADICAL ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION.

JOHANN RUPERT. JOHANNESBURG: The African National Congress (ANC) has reacted to comments made by South Africa's richest man Johann Rupert on radical economic transformation, describing them as disingenuous and extremely opportunistic because they come from a beneficiary of apartheid's exclusionary policies. On the sidelines of the Richemont Annual General Meeting in Geneva on Wednesday, Rupert said that radical economic transformation is just a code for theft. The ANC says it condemns what it calls an arrogant attitude towards the majority of South Africans who have an active interest in changing the economy to accommodate the black people. Spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says: “It’s people like Rupert who, on the basis of their colour and not ability, were able to amass the wealth they have today. And yet, what do they pray for when they go offshore? Is it South Africa must remain poor or the poor must remain poorer?” SOURCE: ewn.co.za

COUNTRIES RELATED TO NORTH KOREA SANCTIONS VIOLATION.

Image: Reuters. UNITED NATIONS — North Korea illegally exported coal, iron and other commodities worth at least $270 million to China and other countries including India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka in the six-month period ending in early August in violation of U.N. sanctions, U.N. experts say. The experts monitoring sanctions said in a report released Saturday that Kim Jong Un's government continues to flout sanctions on commodities as well as an arms embargo and restrictions on shipping and financial activities. They said North Korea is also reportedly continuing prohibited nuclear activities with weapons-grade fissile material production at the Yongbyon nuclear complex, construction and maintenance at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site, and at a uranium mine in Pyongsan. The eight-member panel of experts said it is also investigating the widespread presence of North Koreans in Africa and the Middle East, particularly in Syria, "including their involvement in prohibited a...

NEYMAR'S EMBARRASSING BEHAVIOR AGAINST CELTIC PLAYER.

Image: Reuters. He may have opened his account for PSG in Europe, and terrorised Celtic once more, but Neymar's refusal to shake the hand of Celtic's rookie right-back Tony Ralston hasn't gone down well. The world's most expensive player opened the scoring in PSG's 5-0 drubbing of Brendan Rodgers' side at Celtic Park and he also had a spat with Ralston, who was making his Champions League debut at the age of 18 and had only played four competitive games prior to tonight's outing. Considering the task at hand, he acquitted himself fairly well and his passionate performance went down well with the Celtic faithful. He was involved in a bit of beef with Neymar in the second half and proceeded to laugh in the Brazilian's face when the former Barcelona man uttered words at him. Image: BeIn Sports. And when Ralston went over to shake the hand of his opponent at the end of the game, Neymar was having none of it. TAP TO WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW:...

WHY JOSE MOURINHO WAS FURIOUS AFTER MANCHESTER UNITED WIN OVER BASEL.

JOSE MOURINHO. (PA Wire)  Manchester United got off to a winning start on their return to the Champions League by comfortably beating Swiss champions Basel. But, despite the three points United boss Jose Mourinho was angry at full time accusing his players of relaxing too much after they went two goals up. Marouane Fellaini put United ahead in the first half after he got on the end of an Ashley Young cross and Romelu Lukaku doubled United's lead shortly into the second half. And it was after that Mourinho became animated on the touchline sending instructions to his players. There were a number of stray passes as United looked to see the game out and Mourinho was less than impressed. Speaking to BT Sport after the game he said: "We played quite well up until the 2-0. After that we forgot to play, we forgot to sing, we stopped to play seriously, we stopped to make the right decisions on the pitch. We could put ourselves in trouble but they didn't score....

In a previously unreported 17 August deposition seen by Reuters, Mugabe countered 20-year-old Engels' version, portraying herself as the victim after intervening on behalf of her adult sons Chatunga and Robert Junior who were "in trouble with a drunken young woman". The statement said Grace Mugabe, 52, and a contender to replace her 93-year-old husband as Zimbabwe's president, was thinking about filing attempted murder charges. According to Engels, an irate Mugabe burst into the room where she was waiting with two friends to meet Chatunga Mugabe on 13 August and started laying into her with an electric cable. Pho...

POPE FRANCIS COMPETES WITH PABLO ESCOBAR FOR REVERENCE.

Medellín (Colombia) (AFP):  In her hair salon, Yamile Zapata is taking advantage of Pope Francis's visit to sell key rings with his face on it. But that's not where the real money is in Medellin. Most of the gifts she sells in this Colombian city bear the mustachioed face of its own saint and anti-hero: Pablo Escobar, late boss of the cocaine cartel immortalized in the hit Netflix series "Narcos." While Francis was ministering and teaching as a Jesuit priest in the 1980s, Escobar was killing hundreds of people and trafficking billions of dollars' worth of hard drugs.  "Everyone wants a pope souvenir right now. But Pablo sells better," said Zapata, 34, as the city prepared for Francis's open-air papal mass Saturday.
